Pull Up a Chair at the PxP Hub: Where Lived Experience Leads
Finding Our Way: Navigating Supports and Resources in Family Engagement – Part 1
“Finding Our Way: Navigating Supports and Resources in Family Engagement” is a series born out of the influence of many of our learners who expressed interest in getting to know “what’s out there” in the world of family engagement. It intends to highlight many of the organizations seeking to build resources and community while advancing the work of health and health research.
If you're a patient partner, caregiver, or person with lived experience trying to find your footing in patient-oriented research, you're not alone. The landscape can be overwhelming at first, full of new language, shifting roles, and questions about where you truly fit. That’s why discovering supports can feel like finding a lighthouse in the fog. One of those lighthouses? The PxP Hub.
What Is PxP?
The PxP Hub is a vibrant space where patients and people with lived experience are not just participants in research, they're leaders, visionaries, and co-creators. It’s a resource and relationship-building platform that centers equity, compassion, and respect. Whether you're just beginning your journey or have been partnering in research for years, the PxP Hub offers tools, stories, and insights that feel like a deep breath of “I belong here.”
Why It Matters, for Everyone
For patient partners, the PxP Hub is a space of validation. It affirms that your experiences, of illness, of disability, of caregiving, of navigating systems, carry knowledge that can’t be found in textbooks. You’ll find learning opportunities, communities of practice, and storytelling that reflects the heart of what it means to be part of patient-oriented research.
For researchers and clinicians, the PxP Hub is an invitation: pull up a chair, listen deeply, and learn. When those who hold power in research sit beside those who have lived its consequences, something transformative happens. The insights shared through the PxP Hub help reframe how we define evidence, expertise, and impact. It’s a space that challenges traditional hierarchies and replaces them with relationships rooted in mutual respect.
